Root Chakra Grid (catching up series) - 03/05/2019

Image
Reiki Grid - coping with low back pain I began collecting hearts just a few weeks before assembling this mini grid.  This red jasper with hematite is the first of my hearts for the chakras.  Red jasper is a grounding root chakra stone, and the inclusion of hematite enhances its healing properties.  I read that hematite is known for healing pain because it encourages balance in nerve impulses and healthy blood flow.  It is also good for muscle cramps and spine pain.  Aside from all that, it is beautiful to look at and it feels nice in the hand.  It has a deep and soothing energy. At the time my back was acting up with a nice case of muscle spasms low on the spine.  Once again I had to plod through the usual course of muscle relaxers and list of exercises to do twice daily and I wanted to get it over with, so I incorporated root chakra meditation and this grid to assist with Reiki.   In addition to the red jasper with hematite heart are those f...

Beach Grid (catching up series) - 10/19/2018

Image
The collection grows piece by piece!  I was motivated to make this grid while walking at the beach on a beautiful October day.   Near a small fishing pier another grid fan left a little design made of beach stones and broken shell pieces.  I liked the naturalness of it, and smiled at the impromptu pleasure it had generated for the builder.  I wonder what the artist thought as he or she walked away (I'm pretty sure it was a she, and of a young age).   While continuing my walk I stopped to collect a few weathered beach rocks, shells, some beach rose petals and two gull feathers.  Here is the result.  I had recently acquired the amethyst cones, and at the top is a Himalayan quartz.  From my original collection, once again the two peridot chips, the green calcite and the rhodocrosite chips are featured. The background is a table place mat. I had no strong intentions for this grid other than to commemorate a walk at the shore on a beautiful a...

My First Crystal Grid (catching up series) - 10/13/2018

Image
As the year draws toward closure I'm feeling the urge to get all of my grids documented before losing track of them.   Here is the very first, tiny but energetic.   I had recently finished my Usui Reiki Advanced Training immersion weekend during which we had a sub-course in crystal healing.  My teacher Heidi brought some of her large collection and explained various crystal properties and energies.  We moved on to assemble our first healing grid and charged it with Reiki.  It was a powerful experience to be in one room cracking with energy from all of our meditations; Reiki flowing among us, and the gentle energy hum of the crystals.  Building the grid together and charging it while chanting with Heidi was a profound experience. I wanted to get started at home right away, but had no more than a pendulum and a few meditation crystals.  My niece Liz and I visited Mystical Horizons and had a nice browse-around.  My goals were to find a smal...

Home for the COVID-Days

Image
Holiday time is upon us and I 've been observing the dark days most mornings.   Yogis and Taoists view these months as the yin time, the tamasic phase of the  meteorological  calendar.  This year is especially dark, just name your mix of dark - COVID, the election, isolation, fear, or - ?? M y morning meditation has been a struggle and I've drifted off the path. I had been trying to force it, but attempting to force meditation is fruitless.  Last week I got the message to just sit .  Close eyes, listen to the noises go by, think the thoughts my brain insists on thinking.  Sit.   After a few mornings the urge to pull out my pendulum arose and again I received a message -  don't ask questions of the pendulum, don't make it work.  Just hold it and observe.  So I close my eyes and simply feel the movement, if any.  I open my eyes and watch the pendulum tremble or sway over my upturned palm in whatever direction energy mov...

Election Tarot Spread - Trumped?

Image
A 2020 Presidential Election Reading I'm not new to Tarot but am new at attempting to be a serious student of the Tarot.  This summer I began learning and logging notes by drawing a "card of the day," and occasionally a three card spread.  I fell off the practice after having some particularly good messages out of fear that meant bad news was surely around the corner.  Tuesday morning I had the urge to try a three card spread representing past, present, and future.  I asked for a sign on how the presidential election will turn out - specifically, will Trump remain in office?  Here are the cards I pulled: Past = Two of Pentacles Present = The Chariot  Future = Page of Pentacles I draw Two of Swords a lot!  I've learned she stands for impasse, inertia, indecision; the crags and rocks serve as obstacles and the stalling of progress. The Chariot is a new draw.  According to YouTube's Contemporary Tarot, The Chariot represents action and is the "car o...

A Message of Comfort - The High Priestess

Image
The High Priestess I blogged recently about the almost complete breakdown of my spirituality .   It has dimmed my Reiki connection and I hadn’t touched my crystals since putting away the memorial grid for my sister’s death.   There are reasons I know, and I'm sure there are reasons cloaked up inside, but in any event I felt a discomfort or a dead zone when I attempted to tune in and open up.   I reached out to a crystal grid makers group I belong to and asked for a pep talk and some nudges in the right direction.   I got a lot of good advice, including a suggestion to do some chakra clearing meditations since blocked and imbalanced chakras are likely factors contributing to my malaise.   A gentleman reminded me that everything is cyclical, and suggested that I'm going through "a winter of my spirituality."  I was an a-HA concept to ponder, it gives hope.  A very kind woman recommended that I follow this  soothing chakra heali...

The Wisdom of the Hermit

Image
THE WISDOM OF THE HERMIT I’ve had a situation at work.   Nothing terribly serious -- one of those nagging issues that cropped up a few months ago, gets pushed aside, but every so often it pokes its devilish head out from behind doors.   You could call it a procedural flub, a situation that hasn’t completed its Point A to Point Z transition but got stuck bouncing between Points K and L.   While it vibrated silently in a corner it kept gathering frustration, like a tick that’s been lodged behind a knee and suddenly it is revealed in its glory, sucking up energy.   A meeting was arranged with the boss to finally pull the tick out and expose its underbelly.   I meditated last night and asked for some guidance and a sign on how the meeting would go.   During meditation I asked my mind to retreat from defensive, fight or flight thoughts.   Then  I shuffled the deck and pulled ... The Hermit This is my third card-of-the-day pull...
